How does a water eject sound work?
A water eject sound works by turning your speaker into a tiny air pump. The tone in this tool sweeps between 165Hz and 250Hz, a low range that moves the speaker diaphragm through large back-and-forth excursions. Each excursion pushes a pulse of air through the grille, and those pulses can carry loose water droplets out with them.
This is the same principle behind the Apple Watch Water Lock feature, which plays a burst of low tones to clear its speaker after swimming. Phones do not ship with a built-in equivalent, so a browser tone tool fills that gap without installing anything.
A sweep works better than a single fixed tone because droplets of different sizes sitting in different parts of the grille respond to different frequencies. Sweeping through the range gives each pocket of water a chance to get moving.
How to use the water eject tool
Point the speaker down, set the volume to about 60-80 percent, and play the sweep for 30 seconds. Gravity and air pressure work together, so orientation matters more than people expect.
You may see fine mist or small droplets sputter out of the grille while the tone plays. That is the tool doing its job. Wipe the grille gently with a dry cloth afterward, then run the speaker test mode to hear whether clarity improved.

When does water eject help, and when does it not?
It helps most when audio sounds muffled or fizzy right after brief water contact: rain, a splash at the sink, a sweaty pocket after a run, or shower steam. In those cases the water is usually sitting in the grille and mesh, exactly where moving air can reach it.
It cannot help when water has reached the inside of the phone. A sound wave cannot dry circuit boards, reverse corrosion, or repair a speaker whose coil or membrane was damaged. If your phone was fully submerged, will not charge, shows a liquid detection warning, or behaves erratically, stop using it and have it inspected instead.
Why moderate volume beats maximum volume
Maximum volume adds distortion without adding much extra air movement, and a wet speaker driven to its limits is under more mechanical stress than a dry one. Around 60-80 percent volume keeps the diaphragm moving through clean, full strokes, which is what actually ejects water.
Never play eject tones through connected headphones or earbuds. The tone is designed for an open speaker pushing air, not for drivers sealed against your ear.
